My View On Religion

I am going to be honest, I don't really have any views on religion. Each and every person has has their own religion and that is what they follow and what they are happy with. As long as they are not hurting themselves or anyone/thing that's all I care about. I have nothing against any religion what so ever. I am not pro or con any religion mainly because I don't even know all of what my religion is about so how could I possibly judge someone else's religion?

*My views on my own religion?*

I used to go to church all the time with my family and we all went to C.C.D. classes, retreats with our class and church members and all that jazz. However, when I got into high school, I slowly started to lose interest in religion. I am almost positive it started when my best friend died the day before going into my senior year of high school. She was the most caring person, always had a smile on her face no matter what and always wanted to help anyone and everyone.
Super smart and just had a personality that made it hard not to like her!
She had a complication right after surgery and ended up going into a coma and passing away. That was the day I started to doubt God. Why on earth would he ever take someone away just like that and I started questioning things about life.

From there I couldn't comprehend just exactly how did two people, made by a 'higher spirit' (Adam and Eve) came to be the only two in the beginning of the world. Who is the one who decided to write about it in the Bible?  I don't know its just something that is always in the back of my mind I guess when the word religion is mentioned.

Harry and I will go to church every once in a while and we got married in a church. Now its not that I am against my religion at all. I just have a hard time comprehending the proof of it.  I don't want people to think I am a bad person because ' I don't go to church or I doubt my God'  I don't. I just don't want to spend my time learning about it.

I missed an entire week?!

I honestly don't even know what I was doing for the past week that I missed a butt load of blogging subjects. Harry and I have been trying to get our house together with cleaning out the garage, our breezeway, the basement, etc. Basically going on a cleaning spree. We have realized once we moved everything into the basement when re-finishing our hardwood floors, that only about half of what is downstairs even came back upstairs. Quiet honestly, I didn't even realize that I was even missing anything or missed anything for that matter.  You know what that means... we need to go through it and either donate, recycle or trash it!

Not to mention, now that all of the snow has finally melted .. again.. we can see the grass! annnnd its not as great looking as I remember with millions of leaves, sticks, rocks and branches all over the place. We certainly have a ton of yard work to do to make our landscaping look presentable. We do have a deadline to meet and that will be the week before Easter. Why Easter? Because our entire family is coming over for a brunch. WE BETTER GET CRACKIN'! It is going to be here before we know it.

Alright well I think I am going to take this time to continue blogging the rest of this months challenge.....Day 18 ( HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY DAD!!)

Advice My Parents Gave Me That Stuck

Day 8

I have to be honest I read the challenge for today and seriously thought it said 'Advice my parents gave me that sucked'. And I began writing an entire blog based off that sentence (yet I really didn't have much to say because my parents never gave me sucky advice) but still now I have to re-write a new post haha

Ok... so advice that STUCK...not sucked here we go:

My parents always had their opinions to give and advice to offer and the reality of it is that all of it was pretty good advice. I mean I don't think I will be able to pin point which advice is the most important for me to talk about because to me all of the advice given to me was advice that stuck.
I remember growing up and I was in high school, drinking was around and I wasn't completely  comfortable being around people who drank at that age. So when I was hanging with friends and they decided to raid their parents booze cabinets, I would call my parents to pick me up to go home. I remember my dad and I sitting on the deck talking about alcohol and drinking. My dad isn't stupid (he grew up in the hippie stage lol) and knows that he was young once too. My dad told me that if I  ever wanted to try alcohol or smoke weed, he would not 100% approve of the idea of drugs and alcohol, BUT if i wanted to try it to do it at home first. No one knows how they are going to react to drugs or alcohol and to be somewhere you know if something were to happen you would be safe. Since then I have always respected being very open with my parents and talked about anything and everything for the most part.

I also remember my dad talking to me about marriage. After Harry had asked him for my hand in marriage and his blessings, dad waited until Harry proposed to talk to me about my choice in marriage. My dad absolutely loves Harry and thinks he and I make the perfect couple, but he wanted to hear from my mouth and using my own words that I was 100% in this and had not an ounce of doubt. If I had but once ounce of doubt, I needed to figure that out first before moving forward. One he didn't want to see me unhappy and two it would not be fair to Harry.

Now I realize I keep mentioning dad said this and dad said that, so what about my mom?! Haha my mom is a wonderful, amazing woman. After all she did bring my crazy ass into this world :) Dad was more of the advice-y in the family than mom. Not that mom never gave any good advice, it just happened to be dad almost every time giving the advice over mom.

My parents always pushed us to be our best and to try no matter what the outcome is. As long as you tried your hardest, did the best you could have done and if you are not happy with your results try, try again. Growing up wasn't easy when I was little having a bi-lateral neural loss (hearing loss). I wore hearing aids and it was a huge challenge to overcome because I knew I was different because I couldn't hide it. I was and still am super embarrassed.  Now I wasn't bullied or anything in school, thank god! I was fortunate to go to a school with kids who were all taught to be respectful no matter what. To this day I still try my best at what ever I do and if I am not happy with the results I will try, try again until I am happy with my outcome.

Something I Miss

Day 6
wow..nothing actually comes to my mind right away when I am asked "what is something you miss?"

I literally had to sit here and think about what on earth I actually miss. Then a light went off in my head and I realized what I miss and have always missed is having one close girlfriend. (a friend that is a girl- just so we are all clear here haha)
Ever since graduating college I have not had a close girlfriend. My closest girlfriend who has turned into my best friend is Kristin. I would call us the best duo, that is truly the one thing I  miss the most. She was from Maryland and I was from Jersey, both from totally different worlds (even though its only a few states away from each other) we connected instantly and became great friends. Since graduating it has been really hard... actually nearly impossible, for us to get together. Between her now living in Virginia Beach and I  in Doylestown, PA,  the crazy hours we both put into our jobs with hours that are not normal- its very hard.
She has now recently moved even further away from where she was before which is a huge bummer, but hey now we gotta make a long vacation out of it!!.  So yes having a close friend is what I truly miss. It is always nice to just have someone to talk to about 'girl' stuff, watch movies, stuff your face with food, act like a nutcase, dance, drink some wine/beer/liquor, i'm sure you catch my drift. She is the most caring, smart, beautiful and sweetest person you will ever meet. She could always put a smile on my face and make me laugh with the dumbest things no matter what!  For a dirty little Maryland farm girl, she can actually clean up quiet nicely-- I've witnessed it in person :P

Miss you love bug you mean the world to me!!!

What Is In Your Purse?!

Day 5

So this made me realize I go through spurts of having random, different things in my purse...
so lets see what my bag holds....

1. My everyday purse.... lets see what is hidden inside this wonderful little bag....

2. Mary Kay hand lotion: since the winter I started using this way more. I have been needing it not only for my hands, but my poor face has been super dry. The only reason I have Mary Kay brand is because I got a free sample, I have no idea how much Mary Kay lotion normally costs.
Car Key: to my wonderful 5 door TDI Volkswagen, I don't have a fun key chain or anything attached to it for one reason alone, my key wont fit into my ignition with anything else on it.. bummer haha
3. Excedrin Migraine:  pretty self explanatory, I get migraines :(  I have been good for almost a solid year without a migraine until December. January was a hell month i went two weeks straight with a migraine or two a day its awful I will not leave home without it. (Not that it always works, but it will help until I get to a bed)
Migral: This is a new migraine medicine my brother's girlfriend has been so lovely to provide me with. She gets them as well and was given this medicine from a family member of hers who gets it from overseas somewhere. I haven't tried it yet so we will see when i get my next one how that new drug works out for me.
Floss:  I am terrified of having crap stuck in my teeth or if Harry has something in his teeth! No matter what kind of meat I eat, for some reason I ALWAYS... ALWAYS get some stuck in between my back molar and my tooth next to it. Who knows its the way my teeth grew...

4. Hair accessories: my trusty hair tie, bobby pins and a hair clip. I have long hair and it gets in my face... always, enough said.

5. Pen(s):  you never know when you will need a pen. I carry around a daily planner and usually always in need of writing something at some point down.
Gum: I normally do NOT carry gum around, I usually have mints instead. I do not like gum for my jaws sake. My jaw hurts after chewing gum for 10-15 mins. I bought this because I felt like my breath stank, and mints weren't available. I honestly can't remember the last time i chewed gum... its been nearly 2/3 years- no joke.

6. Free Iced Coffee Monday's: Starting Monday until April, Dunkin Donuts will give me a free iced coffee when I bring in this coupon. I realize I don't really care much for Dunkin Donuts anymore, I have moved up in the world and prefer Starbucks (however my wallet does not) Whatever its free coffee, i'll take it!

7.  Deodorant: never know when you need it and I never wanna smell !!

8. Wallet: actually this wallet is fairly new. I got it from Kohls a few months ago. I do really like it, its pretty handy and can hold lots. Probably to much.

9. Lip products: okay so I realized today after I took this picture that I think I have a lip gloss and chap stick problem. I have more in my make up bag in my bathroom!! I really don't like lip stick I find colors don't fit my face well and I find it dries out my lips. However I do LOVE lip gloss!
Lighter:  I am not a smoker, I just tend to keep one on hand in case I would ever need a lighter for something, you never know!. Same with my blue pocket knife, which seems to be missing from my purse... I probably took it out and placed it somewhere in the house.

10. Daily Planner: I currently don't have it in my purse at the moment, its sitting on my passengers seat in my car.

what's in your bag?!

A Photograph Of The Town I Live In

Day 4

Say Hello to my hometown:
 Doylestown, Pennsylvania

If you are not familiar with Doylestown, PA it is located about 50 minutes (27 miles) directly north of Philadelphia. If you are not familiar with Philadelphia you may just want to look it up :)
Doylestown is located in Bucks County and is a pretty popular town, it is considered to be quiet a wealthy area. (yet i wouldn't call myself wealthy at all haha) Doylestown's origins date began when a man named William Doyle obtained a license to build a tavern on what is now the northwest corner of Main and State street, and is still currently there today. The town itself is a pretty cute town with many shops, restaurants, coffee shops and bars and if for some reason you are not into any of those types of things its just a nice place to walk around in.

Its a pretty busy area with cars and people always around. Both Harry and I decided to stay in the Bucks county area after we graduated college mainly because Harry's job would force him to stay in and around the area, unless he wanted to leave the family business. Up until last week I was a dog walker/pet sitter and was ALL over the place in good ole' bucks county. Currently, I am working right on the outskirts of Doylestown doing the office work and bookkeeping for Harry's company. The company is located in Solebury township and by far the most gorgeous place in Bucks county, I would move there in a heart beat if it wasn't 10 times more expensive than Doylestown is.. *sigh*

In the above picture, the one that looks like a castle and is a castle, that is called the Mercer Museum which is also located right in town. This place is pretty neat  and consists of preserved artifacts of pre-industrial life.  However, to me, its not a normal museum where you see one or two things behind a piece of glass... no there are tons of things hanging ALL over the entire building. It looks something like this inside:

If you are into science, tools and museums I definitely recommend if you are in the area to check it out, its just something neat to see. Another recommendation I have for you if you are in the Bucks county area would be to visit New Hope, PA. Anyone and everyone whose been to New Hope, loves its and says that its just an adorable town! if you get the chance definitely check it out! its located about 20 minutes east of Doylestown (right on the border of PA and NJ)

Well I could probably go on and on about random things in and around Doylestown, but I am just going to stop here. If you are ever in the area lets go for a night out on the town :)
